Director of Human Resources - Distribution

50% Build & Lead the HR strategy for a fast paced evolving multi-channeldistribution center (e Comm, Retail, Wholesale) 1000 non peak & 2500+ peak employees; Build Talent Acquisition strategy to meet the competitive growing business needs in non and peak periods (hiring plan, recruitment, assessment tools & employee experience) Lead Talent Management initiatives for exempt and not exempt employees including assessment of organizational structures Collaborate & influence the facility VP on HR strategies & initiatives that support the business needs and create a positive employee work environment Design employee relations initiatives to support a positive employee work environment & engagement ( building activities, communication programs & management of employee survey & labor relations) Provide counsel to leadership on HR related issues & investigations Measure HR results via score card metrics (time to fill, achieve peak hiring goals, retention, internal promotions, engagement results) 20% Collaborate cross functionally with business partners to leverage support in achieving business needs Partner with corporate learning and development assess required business needs for learning, development & onboarding employees programs Lead and drive all corporate & building recognition programs Partner with corporate compensation & benefits ensure programs remain competitive Collaborate with Engineering team to ensure labor management program is fair and consistency, any concerns with standards assessed and resolved Provide counsel to leadership on HR related issues & investigations Oversee and approve all performance management or policy concerns with legal and within company guidelines 20% People Development Lead, inspire and develop HR team of nine Assess HR teams skills abilities and development needs build plans to support growth Consistently assess HR structure to meet business needs 10% Financial Management Build and manage HRbudget for DC Manage and assess temporaryvendor relationships including contract management and SLA vender requirements Supervisory responsibility for nine HR team members; 4 direct and 5 indirect Lead, identify and coordinate with corporate partners on recruitment, talent management, Compensation/Benefits, Learning & Development needs that support DC initiatives Lead HR data analytics monthly, analyze and identify trends and actions required for turnover, span control , ER trends, recognition and development Budgetary expense for HR functions related to non payroll $680,00 & payroll $670,000 Liason with Legal on HR related issues or communications. Communication with the Distribution leadership teams Support VP of faclity in building strategic leadership meetings & communications Stragegic planning with temporay agency vendors to support non and peak hiring periods Support charitable giving work - Light The Night or local community activities Support other DC as needed (investigations, hiring events, leadership coverage) Experience and Skills Minimum 3 years Sr. HR level role (Director or related) in HRGeneralist role supporting a fast paced retail or service related environment Minimum of 5 years strong HR generalist, knowledge of all HR US laws related to employment, compensation & benefits,investigations, employee relations, etc. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ablity to inspire, influence,negotiate and communicate at all levels in organization Strong Talent Acquisition experience in recruitment of non exempt employees; peak periods in a fast paced environment retail, fast food or customer service organizations Experience with organizational design to support growing business Demonstrated ablity to manage complex employee relations situations & maintain highly confidential information Working knowledge of Labor Unions & Employee Relatons Proven success in the ablity to think stragetically, analyze data, problem solve, build initatives to support & gain alingment across an organization Bachelors degreerequired. Minimum of three years experience as Human Resources-HR generlist at the Director level Previous HR managerial experience in retail, service or eCommerce faclities prefered Previous experience working in e comm distribution environment preferred or similar fast paced, high volume nonexempt recruitment experience PHR or SPHR a plus. Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays on rotational bases as business needs require Ability to walk facility daily 1M square feet & climb stairs Position ID: 85329-275740
