Position Purpose: With 10 locations across the country, our network of distribution centers keep all of our online stores and retail locations stocked with all the best products for our customers' pets. The Operations Manager will be for our Braselton, GA distribution center for 2nd Shift. The successful candidate will plan, direct and manage the daily operation of a 'main' distribution center through subordinate supervisors to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments; stock movement and completion of shipping of store orders. Works interactively with distribution supervisors to ensure efficient and effective operations. The nature of this position entails supervising all distribution center employees through subordinate exempt level supervisors, to include interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation and follow through as well as periodic performance evaluation, disciplinary action and termination when necessary Essential Job Functions: Through previous background and experience, the candidate must demonstrate, with or without an accommodation:

  • Manage Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Warehouse and may assist to perform any of the related duties
  • Set-up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and adjusted stock counts to ensure the accuracy with which supplies are stocked in the warehouse and run daily inventory, productivity and analysis reports for distribution among management staff; audit pallets picked to measure accuracy.
  • Maintain Warehouse database for use of research and identifying product number, SKU numbers, and locating merchandise within warehouse.
  • Manage schedule completed by Supervisor including the dispatch all outgoing trucks to Distribution Centers and Petco stores. When necessary, contact outside vendors to arrange for additional drivers or trailers to deliver merchandise.
  • Observe and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean warehouse environment.
  • Efficiently create complex documents and/or reports using spreadsheet software.
  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all contacts inside and outside the Company.
  • Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Work Environment: While some job duties are performed while seated indoors, the majority of the time is spent in the distribution center, where exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and noises should not be overlooked. The incumbent may also be required on occasion to work in the warehouse where there may also be risk of injury resulting from improper procedures. Education/Experience:
  • 2 years of college at an accredited institution or equivalent experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred; plus 10 years of distribution center/warehouse experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic distribution center management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, accounting relationships and inventory control procedures through experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
