Position Overview:
FOX Factory, Inc., a fast-growing and dynamic company in Braselton, GA (30517) has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Advanced Manufacturing.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Advanced Manufacturing, the position of Director, Advanced Manufacturing has a global and strategic focus for the FOX Powered Vehicles group. As a key member of the manufacturing team, the Director of Advanced Manufacturing will provide operations leadership to an advanced manufacturing engineering team while utilizing lean manufacturing methodology as the cornerstone of the daily activities required to deliver world class manufacturing efficiencies and results in four key areas (safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.) The Director, Advanced Manufacturing will also have concentrated focus in the effective application of Automation and Robotics when applicable.
Apply technical skills forperformance and production resolution of high-end-off road shocks and relatedcomponents with limited supervision.
Focus efforts of the of themanufacturing engineering team to result in substantial, proven:
Cost reduction
Standardization of similar products, processes, andequipment
Robustness and quality improvement of product design formanufacturing and maintainability
Establish and lead the advancedmanufacturing engineering team to obtain optimum productivity while reachingstrategic goals
Utilize, drive, and promoteeffective manufacturing engineering principles to ensure the delivery ofbusiness objectives and a culture of continuous improvement for all FOX PowerVehicles sites.
Improve tooling/fixtures, processesand labor standards for high reliability low volume and high mix productline(s), as well as high volume, low mix OE products for automotivecustomers.
Develop a world-class manufacturingengineering organization by providing training, coaching and counseling, andtop grading as appropriate.
Ensure Internal and Externalcustomer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with ISO-IATFrequirements and other industry standards.
Serve as a technical contact withinternal and external customers, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering,quality assurance, product support, material, and suppliers ensuring theirsatisfaction.
Implement performance, cost, qualityand consistency improvements in products and process during and after theirdesign phase.
Coordinates the analysis of datafrom returned mechanical components and implement improvements to increase thereliability of the components, minimizing the number of returned units.
Be able to work in a teamenvironment and demonstrate support of teamwork, cooperation, respect, andintegrity
Prepare manufacturing/productionplan for new designs, as well as existing design for which total lead-timeexceeds productivity standards.
Collaborate with peers and managerto determine key goals and objectives, and corresponding metrics, to becompleted during a determined period in line with long-term strategic companyvision.
Review and amend these actions asappropriate. Focus on timely achievement of these goals and objectives.
Ability to communicate and engagewith all levels of the company in a productive and collaborative approach.
Job Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 to 15 years ofprofessional experience in a manufacturing environment. Work Experience inautomotive Tier 1 supplier and/or OE work required. Key requirement: Auto/Auto(Automotive/Automation)
Minimum 5 years proven manufacturingengineering leadership/supervisory experience, including high level ofautomation and robotics processes for assembly and transportation and handlingof product, implementation and support
Demonstrated ability to successfullylead manufacturing engineering team delivering significant results in employeesafety, productivity, product quality, and velocity with highly strategicfocus, including large projects of manufacturing facility start-ups and productline transfers
Demonstrated experience with andtraining in lean manufacturing and Six-Sigma principles including root causeanalysis and driving manufacturing process improvements in a cross-functionalsetting. PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP process expertise
Strongly committed to and a trackrecord of continuous improvement advancement and cultural implementation
Strong technical expertise in metalsfor automotive products
Experience in understanding andauthoring blueprints, engineering specifications, CAD modeling, equipmentautomation protocols and implementation
Outstanding spreadsheet utilizationskills along with proficiency in word processing and presentation software (MSOffice)
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communicator andteam-builder with strong interpersonal, negotiation, leadership andorganizational skills
Proficiency with ERP systems, suchas Oracle, SAP or similar
Lean manufacturing certification isconsidered a plus
Proven ability to perform datamining and analysis to prioritize and drive continuous improvement
Previous experience with high mixprecision electromechanical products, electronic controls and embedded softwareexperience is a plus
Previous experience with simpleautomation and poke-yoke experience is a plus
Multi- tasked, flexible, & openminded
Effective and collaborativeproblem-solving skills
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical orManufacturing Engineering or Robotics related field
MBA or MS Preferred
